The Man Who Can’t Be Moved (The Script, 2008)

The melody warmed my heart. The lyrics hit the bull’s eye. Danny sang it with unwavering love that I want to pick him up from that corner and let him out of the misery he is in.

The Man Who Can’t Be Moved is my favorite song from the Irish alternative rock band, The Script. They have been in the sidelines for quite a while but they are making waves in the music scene again as they release their new album, Science and Faith, this September. I got so excited that I played the songs from their first album on loop for weeks!

Let me share with you the best lines of the song.

Some try to hand me money, they don’t understand / I’m not broke I’m just a broken hearted man

And here’s another one:

People talk about the guy / Who’s waiting on a girl / There are no holes in his shoes / But a big hole in his world

Of course, the chorus will make every hopeless romantic cry for their lost loves, their ‘could-have-beens’, and their ‘the-ones-who-got-away’.

‘Cause if one day you wake up and find that you’re missing me
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I could be
Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we meet
Oh, you see me waiting for you on a corner of the street

Just the right song that will deeply move you.
